Palmilla was Jack Nicklaus' first design in Latin America and remains one of Mexico's most respected courses. It follows a classic layout through desert arroyos above the Sea of Cortez, and its oceanfront holes have long been the reason golfers come back.

Current status

Palmilla's oceanfront holes are being renovated. While the work is underway, the course is open only to Palmilla Golf Club members. A reopening date has not been confirmed, and public play is expected to return sometime in 2027.
