Villa Descanso

​Villa Descanso is an 8,700 square foot, nine-bedroom villa (sleeps 20) newly constructed in 2009. Descanso is a home as stylish and luxurious as its Pedregal address and was designed with the big family or large group of friends in mind. Just imagine celebrating with your family and friends at this private sanctuary while taking in the fantastic views of the Pacific Ocean, Lands End and the crashing waves breaking on the Finistera/Capella beach.

Villa Descanso’s Spanish Colonial architecture blends the best of traditional Mexican and modern styles, including soft neutral tones brightened by a blend of classic paintings, local art and carvings.

The main floor was designed with entertainment in mind, including the 46-inch flat screen TV in the living room and 36-inch flat screen TV in the kitchen. Leather and handcrafted wood furnishings are featured in the expansive living and dining areas. The 46-inch flat screen television, computer station, and plush leather sofas are the highlights of the media room, and the regulation size pool table will provide hours of entertainment in the billiard room. The floor plan on the main level is designed such that the flow is seamless from the living, dining, kitchen, billiard, and media rooms and the outdoor areas. The gourmet kitchen is any chef’s dream, with extensive cabinetry, high-end granite counter tops, stainless steel appliances, side-by-side refrigerator/freezer, and a large Thermador six-burner gas range. With indoor and outdoor counter seating for nine, this kitchen is an area where people comfortably congregate. The hand carved dining room table seats 12.

On the main deck, you’ll find everything you need to enjoy the spectacular Baja sunshine, from a gas fire-pit for late night conversations with family and friends, to the grilling area which has a large gas BBQ and wet-bar. More modern elements have inspired the the infinity pool and swim-up bar accompanied by a gorgeous cantera-columned pergola for shade and an infinity-edged Jacuzzi. Relax on the comfortable lounge chairs while enjoying the sun, calming ocean views and crashing waves.

Make your escape to the cactus garden, a manicured and secluded area featuring a variety of native cactus and greenery. A relaxing stroll along the gravel pathway will give you a close-up of all the indigenous vegetation. The next floor has four decadent bedroom suites and a large steam shower room just off the mezzanine that will accommodate eight to 10 people. The third floor has five sumptuous bedroom suites, more outdoor terraces with lush vegetation, and an Internet café we call the “fish tank,” with a house computer, printer/fax/scanner, and high-speed Internet connection where people can check their email, or just surf the net while they have a drink.

Villa Descanso’s full-time house staff is a distinguishing feature that separates this villa from most others. They provide the ultimate in personal attention and service, handling the indoor cleaning and maid services, outdoor cleaning and maintenance. They are knowledgeable of the villa and can assist with questions and problems should they arise. They are also excellent cooks, and for an additional fee (negotiated directly with them) are available for meal preparation and cooking.

The consistent luxury and amenities throughout the villa makes Villa Descanso the ideal getaway for large families, couples and big groups of friends and it is only one mile from downtown Cabo’s fine dining and vibrant nightlife.
