Welcome to our in-villa cooking classes with Chef Kris Kabush!
Chef Kris has a deeply rooted background in fine dining, having spent his 20+ year career in the top kitchens of Vancouver, Canada. Learn how to use local ingredients in creative dishes with family and friends! Treat yourself and your guests to a unique, hands on experience in which you’ll learn the steps of preparation and execution of some of his favorite recipes. Chef Kris has developed a unique style focusing on the best local ingredients and utilizing classic as well as modern techniques. Having moved to Los Cabos in 2016, Chef Kris has enjoyed working with the local farmers, fishermen and purveyors who supply a bounty of local products to experiment with.
Each cooking class can be personalized to your group’s preferences and skill level.
Start your cooking class with a refreshing cocktail while you learn to prepare Chef Kris’ take on a one of his favorite dishes, Ceviche. Using ingredients sourced locally, Chef Kris will walk you through each step of creating the different components for this delicious and refreshing dish. Following the class, guests will be treated to a delicious lunch including their Ceviche with tostadas, a seasonal salad made with locally farmed seasonal ingredients and dessert.
The lunch class requires approximately 2 to 2.5 hours.
Enjoy a classic mimosa while you learn some of Chef Kris’ unique twists on a traditional hollandaise sauce. Guests will learn how Chef Kris combines the use of Mexican ingredients to elevate the classic hollandaise sauce and how he marries that with a bit of his Canadian roots by replacing the ham with smoked salmon.
Following the class, you and your guests will enjoy your newly learned recipes with crispy brunch potatoes, a seasonal farm salad and dessert.
This class requires approximately 2 to 2.5 hours.
Start your cooking class with a craft cocktail as Chef Kris walks you and your guests through the steps of cooking some his personal favorites including a signature sashimi and his very special take on a surf and turf using local octopus and pork belly.
Following the class, you will enjoy a three-course meal including the items you’ve prepared for a sashimi appetizer, local octopus with crispy pork belly, Romesco sauce and eggplant preserve. The meal will be capped off with a dessert chosen by Chef Kris.
This class requires approximately 3 to 4 hours.
SAN JOSE ORGANIC MARKET TOUR AND LUNCH CLASS
During this class, you and your guests will take a walking tour of the local outdoor organic market just outside the historical town of San Jose del Cabo with Chef Kris. At the market, you will select some of the day’s best produce to use in your cooking class. After enjoying the market, you will head back to Casa Taba or your villa with Chef Kris to commence your cooking class where you will get hands on with some of his creations.
Following the class, you will enjoy a refreshing cocktail and a three course lunch including the items you’ve prepared, and dessert.
This class requires approximately 4 to 5 hours.
Lunch Class – $95 per person plus 16% tax and 18% service fee
Brunch Class – $95 per person plus 16% tax and 18% service fee
Dinner Class – $125 per person plus 16% tax and 18% service fee
San Jose Organic Market Tour and Lunch Class – $125 per person plus 16% tax and 18% service fee (transportation not included)
